With the release of the “Mission to the Moonphase” Snoopy, you’d think it’s time for a collective sigh of relief, right? Think again! Just as many of us are coming to terms with missing out on the all-white “Mission to the Moonphase” (due to very limited supply and heightened demand) from last week, there’s yet another launch to consider. Is this some sort of sick game or sheer brilliance from Swatch? In case you are lost in space and have no idea what the “Mission to the Moonphase” Snoopy in all white is, click here.

the info we have…

Just a few days ago, Swatch teased us on their official Instagram with an animated Snoopy. In the clip, Snoopy is seen joyfully running with a cake, a white candle flickering in front, closely followed by a black one. When he stops to blow out the candles, only the white one is extinguished, as shown in the second image, while the black one stubbornly remains lit despite his efforts. This clever animation sparked speculation: could this hint at the possibility of a black version of the “Mission to the Moonphase” Snoopy being released?

Confirmation…

Less than 24 hours ago, Swatch returned to their official Instagram to share another intriguing clip. This time, it featured the moon transitioning from light to dark, capped off with an animated lume shot of the Mission to the Moonphase. The sequence ended with a date: 8.4.24, leaving followers buzzing with anticipation. This was the ultimate confirmation that we will see an all black version/ variation of the Mission to Moonphase.  The questions is, will it be all black with a black bezel and tachymeter scale written in white or all black case with white bezel and tachymeter scale written in black? Your guess is as good as mine. I would think the price should be the same as the all white “Mission to the Moonphase” that came out last week of $310.

Perfect timing…

The timing is impeccable, as April 8th coincides with the day when leading luxury watch brands, including Rolex and Patek Philippe, unveil their latest creations for the year in Geneva, Switzerland at Watches & Wonders. Could Snoopy steal the spotlight?

The dilemma…

This presents a real conundrum for enthusiasts: faced with the opportunity, do you choose the white or black version, assuming you can only secure one? Personally, having missed out on the white “Mission to the Moonphase” and lacking an all-white Moon Swatch in my collection, my choice seems straightforward. However, should the black variant truly blows me away, I’d find myself compelled to acquire both, without question! Also in terms of collectibility, the set will be more valuable in the long run.

At the end of the day…

Ultimately, at the end of the day, the most important thing is to follow your instincts. It has to resonate with you. Whether it’s highly collectible or not, the key is to enjoy the search. If you’re presented with the chance, go ahead and purchase what genuinely appeals to you. I’m eager to see how it all unfolds… stay tuned!

Due to the unpredictable and volatile market on certain Rolex, Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet watches, prices are subject to change.
