A Tribute to Le Mans and Timeless Elegance

To celebrate its 15th anniversary, Laurent Ferrier unveils the Sport Auto 79—a watch inspired by racing history and enduring friendship.

This model honors a defining moment: the 1979 Le Mans 24 Hours podium.
After an intense 24-hour race spanning 3,988 kilometers, Laurent Ferrier, François Servanin, and François Trisconi crossed the line in third place overall.

Their achievement was remarkable; they were three amateur drivers competing on the sport’s grandest stage.

That day, alongside their trophy, the friends received a watch as a gift.
This simple gesture sparked a greater dream—to one day create a watchmaking company rooted in tradition, passion, and timeless elegance.

The foundation of Laurent Ferrier was laid on June 10, 1979, with this vision in mind.
Now, the Sport Auto 79 pays tribute to that beginning.

The 18kt red gold case measures 41.5mm in diameter and 12.7mm thick.
It features a domed sapphire crystal and sapphire display back, ensuring both beauty and durability.

The watch offers water resistance up to 120 meters, blending sportiness with sophistication.

In-House Movement

Inside beats the Swiss automatic Laurent Ferrier caliber LF270.01.
It features 31 jewels, operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour, and offers a three-day power reserve.

The platinum micro-rotor powers the movement, which showcases horizontal satin-brushed bridges treated with ruthenium.

Functions include:

  • Central hours and minutes

  • Small seconds at 6 o’clock

  • Date at 3 o’clock

Elegant Dial and Design

The dial is cream-colored with a silver-rose galvanic treatment and opaline finish.
Powder grey transfers and a snailed small seconds display add subtle texture.

The 19kt red gold indices and Assegai-shaped hands feature Super-LumiNova for enhanced readability.
A date aperture at 3 o’clock displays white discs with an anthracite date.

Integrated Bracelet

Completing the look is an integrated three-link 18kt red gold bracelet with a secure folding clasp.

The Laurent Ferrier Sport Auto 79 perfectly bridges the world of motorsport achievement and timeless Swiss craftsmanship—a true tribute to the brand’s remarkable journey

Due to the unpredictable and volatile market on certain Rolex, Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet watches, prices are subject to change.
