Titan Company Limited is India’s top watchmaker and one of the largest in the world. This year, the brand made headlines at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève. They are nominated for the  flying tourbillon (above)

Imagined and realized completely in India , the 7TH1 caliber showcases craftsmanship, precision, and innovation.

Limited to four pieces, it features a flying tourbillon with a Titan logo bridge doubling as a seconds hand, set on a hand-guilloché dial with peacock blue sub-dials.

An 18k rose gold case, sapphire crystal, 4 Hz movement, and 36-hour reserve complete this tribute to Titan’s four decades of fine watchmaking.

A Personal Connection

My link to Titan is personal. When I was twelve, I traveled to Bangalore, India. There, I met my uncle Karam for the first time. His office was at Titan Watches, where he was the President. I remember feeling proud, though I didn’t yet realize how far this brand would go. Today, seeing Titan release the Jalsa Tourbillon fills me with admiration for how much it has grown.

The Artistry

The Jalsa is a true mix of watchmaking and Indian miniature painting. Each dial is painted on a base of polished white marble, making every watch unique.

Renowned artist Shakir Ali painted a royal procession in front of Jaipur’s Hawa Mahal, or Palace of Winds. This famous landmark is celebrating its 225th anniversary in 2025. A rotating magnifier lets you view the fine details of the art up close.

The watch case is made from 18kt rose gold with a glowing red agate middle ring. It measures 43.5mm across and 14.5mm thick. The domed sapphire crystal is anti-reflective. The back is also sapphire, and the watch is water-resistant to 50 meters.

Engineering Excellence

Inside the Jalsa is a manual-wind flying tourbillon movement. Titan designed and developed entirely in-house and meets the highest global watchmaking standards. This represents a significant achievement for the Indian watchmaking industry.

Key features include:

  • 14 jewels

  • 21,600 vibrations per hour

  • 48-hour power reserve

  • Hours, minutes, and seconds on the tourbillon

  • Red agate bridge covers

The strap is hand-stitched black alligator leather with an 18kt rose gold pin buckle.

Price and Availability

Only 10 Jalsa watches exist. The price is 45,000 Euros. For collectors, it is both a piece of art and a mark of India’s place in fine watchmaking.

About Titan Company Limited

Founded in 1984 and part of the Tata Group, Titan has grown far beyond watches. It now has leading brands in jewellery, eyewear, fragrances, and fashion. The company employs over 12,200 people. It runs 11 production sites and has 3,240 sales points in 431 cities.

Titan’s reach is also global, with growing markets in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and North America.

From Childhood Memory to Horological Masterpiece

From a boy’s first visit to his uncle’s office in Bangalore to seeing Titan among the world’s best—this journey is inspiring. The Jalsa Tourbillon is more than a watch. It is proof of how far Titan has come and where it is going next.

Due to the unpredictable and volatile market on certain Rolex, Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet watches, prices are subject to change.
