2022 GPHG winner, Ferdinand Berthoud has announced the release of a limited edition of the Chronometre FB2T, marking the final edition of the first caliber FB-T.FC launched in 2015. This stunning timepiece boasts a round case, a tourbillon movement with fusee-and-chain transmission, and a pillar-based construction.

Crafted in 18kt white gold, the case measures 44mm x 14.3mm and features a domed AR-coated sapphire crystal and an exhibition back fitted with a glare-proofed sapphire crystal pane. The engraved inscription “EDITION FINALE” on the back adds a touch of exclusivity. The 9mm 18kt white gold dynamometric crown with a black ceramic medallion is another highlight of the design.

The Swiss manual-wind Ferdinand Berthoud in-house caliber FB-T.FC-2 powers the watch, with 45 jewels, 21,600 vph, and a power reserve of 53 hours. The tourbillon movement has a fusee-and-chain transmission for constant force, a suspended inverted fusee differential winding system, a suspended barrel Maltese cross stopwork system, and a suspended power reserve mobile cone system, all of which are patented. The tourbillon also features direct-drive seconds and a variable-inertia balance with four rhodium-plated nickel silver inertia blocks. The balance spring has a hand-crafted Phillips outer terminal curve, and the Swiss lever escapement ensures precise timekeeping.

The dial has a base plate in vertical satin-brushed brass with blue CVD-treatment, and features silver-toned and black-varnished hours and minutes subdial at 12 o’clock, a silver-toned and black-varnished railway-type seconds track, and power-reserve indication engraved on the mainplate. The facetted and skeletonised dagger-shaped hours and minutes hand in 18kt white gold and arrow-shaped power-reserve hand in 18kt gold with blue CVD-treatment add to the elegance of the design.

The Chronometre FB2T comes on a hand-sewn rolled-edge strap crafted from a single piece of leather, with various sizes available on request. The length-adjustable twin-blade folding clasp in 18kt white gold ensures a comfortable and secure fit. A pin buckle is also available on request.

The Ferdinand Berthoud Chronometre FB2T is an exceptional masterpiece of timekeeping technology that blends technical innovation with elegant design. Limited to only 38 pieces, this exclusive timepiece is a coveted treasure for collectors and enthusiasts alike, making it a must-have addition to any luxury watch collection.

Due to the unpredictable and volatile market on certain Rolex, Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet watches, prices are subject to change.
