Breguet dropped the NEW Tradition Seconde Rétrograde 7035
To mark its 250th anniversary, Breguet has introduced the Tradition Seconde Rétrograde 7035—a refined and technically ambitious timepiece, limited to just 250 pieces worldwide.
A Tribute to Tradition and Innovation
Rooted in the Tradition 7037, the new model reflects Breguet’s enduring aesthetic identity and geometric harmony. Designed with precision and finished entirely in-house, this anniversary edition celebrates both craftsmanship and history.
For the first time, the Tradition collection debuts two signature color codes: Breguet gold and Breguet blue.
How Is Breguet Gold Made?
Breguet gold is a proprietary alloy made from gold, silver, copper, and palladium. It emits a warm golden hue that matches both the case and movement components. A custom-developed plating process ensures the mainplate and bridges reflect the same tone. Visual contrast comes from silver gears, ruby-red jewels, and 24 blued steel screws, enhancing the watch’s rich depth.
The bridges feature a silky satin finish, applied by hand—a first for the Tradition line.
How Big Is the Seconde Rétrograde 7035?
The case, crafted in 18kt Breguet gold, measures 38mm in diameter and 12.6mm thick. Its fluted case middle, sapphire display back, and domed anti-reflective crystal reflect classical Breguet style. It is water-resistant to 30 meters and features screwed and welded lugs.
Breguet Blue Dial: A Centerpiece in Enamel and Guilloché
The engine-turned dial, set off-center at 12 o’clock, features translucent Grand Feu enamel in Breguet blue, overlaid with the Quai de l’Horloge guilloché motif. Stylized Breguet Arabic numerals, a Fleur-de-Lis minute track, and a unique serial number at 4 o’clock stand in striking silver contrast.
The retrograde seconds hand, made of blued steel, mirrors the dial’s rich enamel hue.
Masterful Mechanics: Caliber 505SR
At the heart of the watch beats Breguet’s in-house automatic caliber 505SR. It contains 38 jewels, runs at 21,600 vph, and delivers a 50-hour power reserve. Highlights include:
-
18kt Breguet gold bridges, satin-finished and shot-blasted
-
Platinum crescent moon rotor, vertically satin-finished
-
Patented Breguet blue Nivachron balance spring
-
24 blued steel screws enhancing both structure and contrast
Finishing Touches
The watch comes fitted with a navy blue alligator leather strap, featuring large scales and matching alligator lining. The 18kt Breguet gold pin buckle adds elegance and cohesion.
Each piece is delivered in a special red leather case, inspired by vintage Moroccan leather cases and individually numbered for the 250th anniversary and retails for $51,200.
Due to the unpredictable and volatile market on certain Rolex, Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet watches, prices are subject to change.
